Congress Theater close to being clear of city violations

The Congress Theater is just a step away from being cleared of its city violations.

On Thursday, city attorney Judy Frydland told a Cook County judge the theater at 2135 N. Milwaukee must still connect its backup generator and lighting system before any sort of city agreement can be made. read article

On behalf of The Girl In Blue Team and the College of Computing and Digital Media at DePaul University, I wanted to take the time to thank you for your generosity in allowing us to use your space to film in on Sunday, April 21st. As we are a student crew, we have been heavily reliant on the generosity of local businesses and organizations for this project. You were extremely generous in offering both The Portage Theater and The Congress to us to shoot in when we were in a rough spot –both being venues that were an absolute dream to film in.

The Portage drastically increased the overall value and worth of our film. WhileChicago has many theater venues, there are very few who are so gracious, kind, and flexible with college students. We are truly grateful to have worked with The Portage on our short film, and we look forward to working with you on future endeavors.
